Confined spaces may be encountered in virtually any occupation; therefore, their recognition is the first step in preventing fatalities. Since deaths in confined spaces often occur because the atmosphere is oxygen-deficient, toxic or combustible confined spaces that contain or have the potential to contain a serious atmospheric hazard should be classified as permit-required confined spaces. These should be tested prior to entry and continually monitored.
This one-day training incorporates an afternoon of hands-on training utilizing a retrieval system and monitoring equipment. During the afternoon session you will have ample opportunity to participate in setting up entry and retrieval, monitoring the space and practicing rescue techniques. The registration fee of $125.00 includes refreshments, lunch, course materials and CEU certificate.
Upon completion of this training you will be able to
- Discuss OSHAs Permit-Required Confined Space Final Rule 1910.146.
- Recognize and evaluate hazards and possible solutions related to confined spaces.
- List the personal protective equipment, including respiratory protection, and monitoring instruments recommended for use in confined space entry.
